WESTOVER VINEYARDS AND WINERY

Upon arrival at Westover, the smell of food fills the air. As we approach I am struck that there are a lot of folks in the tasting room. The room itself is filled with a multitude of varieties. Rack upon rack contain more varieties than I can count. I give up trying.
I ask to speak to the owner. William Smyth is a busy man. He darts back and forth not just enjoying the CEO position but doing it all. With a surgeons precision (he has a medical background) he commands the troops.
I finally catch him as he stops momentarily. "Have you seen the Ports?" zhe asks. William is the largest variety Port producer in the United States. Some twenty one varieties plus a port style Creme Sherry and a Muscat. The tasting table was COVERED in the slender Port bottles. The crowd was excited and there was a wait to get close. Not to be deterred, the crowd paid its dues. It was worth it. Liquid candy.
